Every year, the Southbank Centre hosts a different themed festival and this year looked to that four-letter word that makes the world go round for inspiration… L-O-V-E. As part of the Festival Of Love, there are various installations, artworks, events and pop-ups celebrating love in all its forms. Among the activities and displays include the Temple of Agape, the Sliding Gate slides, Heartbreak Hotel and the Museum of Broken Relationships. Many of these attractions are free and open daily until late so you can stop by and explore what love means to you.
One evening recently, I checked out the Tunnel Of Love at the Festival Of Love. Located on the Spirit Level (lower ground floor) of the Royal Festival Hall, it’s a flirty and fun trip that can be taken with lovers or friends. Curated by creative arts company Heart & Soul, the Tunnel will also play host to live music, performances, club nights and talks. The Tunnel includes a DJ booth and Twister map, as well as the chance to write your own love message to your sweetheart.
Here’s a gallery of photos from the Tunnel Of Love…
