Amanda Parer’s ‘Intrude’ installation featured giant illuminated bunnies at the Southbank Centre
This evening I finally managed to see Amanda Parer’s art installation ‘Intrude’ at the Southbank on the last day of the Winter Festival. The Australian artist has created seven metre high illuminated rabbits, which were on show at the Southbank Centre from 6 December 2014 – 11 January 2015. Dotted around the foyer at the Royal Festival Hall, visitors were compelled to climb the stairs to get a proper view of some of the taller ones. Although many of us normally associate bunnies with Easter, to see an expanse light (which also happened to be cute) really lifts the soul amidst the gloomy darkness of winter. The installation was previously on show at the 2014 Vivid Festival in Sydney before coming to London.
