About Memoirs Of A Metro Girl

© Memoirs Of A Metro Girl 2012

Welcome to Memoirs Of A Metro Girl, a culture and history blog about experiencing and living in London for both residents and visitors.

Having being born and brought up in London, I am fiercely patriotic to the city and wouldn’t dream of living anywhere else.

After working for years as a journalist, I started this blog in spring 2012 to write about the things I have a passion for. I see Memoirs Of A Metro Girl as a celebration and exploration of the history and attractions London has to offer – some well-known on the tourist trail, but also some hidden parts off the beaten track.

The blog features guides to the capital’s events, bar and restaurant reviews, new openings, pop-ups, as well as including a historical and architectural backdrop when possible. Yes, I cover a wide range of things in my blog. However, like many Londoners, I’m not to be pigeon-holed and have a wide range of contrasting interests (e.g. I love clubbing and history). So I may not have a USP when it comes to my blog, but I aim to provide content to appeal to different interests.

Every month, I publish my guide to the best events on in the capital – festivals, open houses, pop-ups, exhibitions, etc, to help you make the most of your free time or visit to London. Click here for the latest guide. I have no interest in being seen as an ‘influencer’, but I aim to educate and inspire people who live and work in or are visiting my hometown.

Happy exploring!
